Yoga means unity. It is derived from Sanskrit the word ‘Yuj’ which means joining.
Yoga is practised to join the body, mind and soul together in order to form a uniﬁed spiritual whole.
There are six major types of Yoga and each of these six has a different set of techniques, but all six are designed to achieve the same target:
to join or to co-ordinate smooth functioning of our body, mind and soul.
